Beauty Talks is a space for dialogue, storytelling, and discovering everything surrounding the world of Hyalustar, cosmetic research, and more.
In our third installment, we meet Giulia Del Fraro, head of the cosmetic formulation laboratory.
Hi Giulia, welcome. I'll let you introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi everyone, I'm Giulia, I'm 40 years old, and I have a Master's Degree in Biology applied to biomedical research, with a Master's in Cosmetic Sciences. I am the head of the cosmetic formulation laboratory and have been doing this job for 13 years.
What is your professional goal?
My goal is to grow significantly and establish myself in the cosmetics field.
In your opinion, what is the added value of a female researcher?
Research is a field that requires a lot of patience, versatility, and expertise, all characteristics easily found in a female researcher.
Why did you choose to pursue a career in science?
Since I was young, science subjects have always fascinated and intrigued me. This passion has been a constant throughout my personal growth, and over time, I realized that I am particularly suited to this field.
What makes the difference in dermocosmetics research?
Knowledge and curiosity are two fundamental aspects for better understanding this field, so knowing what dermocosmetics is, what it treats, and knowing everything surrounding this field is essential to then develop the best products.
Tell us about your beauty routine: what do you look for and how do you choose the products you use?
My beauty routine starts with cleansing, which also varies depending on what my skin needs each day, so it can be more or less thorough depending on my needs. Then I move on to applying a serum, always paired with a moisturizer. I look for products that are first and foremost suitable for my skin, which is now drier and more mature, but also practical and quick; as a mother, I always have little time to dedicate to myself.
What advice would you give to the female researchers of tomorrow?
I would advise always being curious, having an insatiable thirst for knowledge to try to bring innovation and discover new formulations.
